Contents - Flat Plan + List of Content
This is my first rough draft of my contents page just to give me an idea of the page design/furniture before I decide specifically what will be written.

When working out what content I should include in my contents page, I thought it would be best to limit my contents to 3 columns, and therefore 3 subheadings. I experimented this these sub-titles and what would be on the contents page when making my flat plans. At first I thought a "What's new section" would be a good idea, but then I decided that would already be covered in the other two sections featured on the contents pages.
This is my final draft of my contents page in which I decided what cover lines would be used where to give me a better idea of what my final piece will look like before I put the contents page together. It also allows me to change things around if they don't work in the editing process, as now I have a rough base.

Then I decided to limit it to the two columns, as can be seen by my second flat plan. However, I'm not sure whether a minimalist contents style, like that of Q's, would work on a contents page that only covers one page. If, during the editing process, I decide that the images would take up too much space then I will add another column titled "Album Reviews". In this section I would review albums that have been recently released at the time of writing my contents page. My "On the cover" section would be everything I included on the cover of my magazine; and my "In This Issue" page would be made up of artists that have been active recently, and also artists that I would believe to catch people's attention when reading.
