Contents Analysis - Kerrang!

The contents of the magazine are only presented on the right of this page that is dedicated to a run down of the magazine content. Most of the space is taken up by a competition, this could be to encourage people to buy the next copy of Kerrang! as there will be another competition in the next issue. The reason for this could be so people actually take part, and therefore make the magazine money and gain interest. There is only one column that states what is in the magazine with the image taking up the space which could be used for other columns, without the image there would be 3 columns if they matched the size of the first column.

All of the contents are put into categories so people can easily find what they like, the categories are: Feedback, News, Live Reviews, Posters, Features, Albums, Gig Guide and The Ultimate Rockstar Test. This is very different to MOJO which only lists the key features and articles, whereas Kerrang! lists a wide range of topics from the latest news to albums. Seeing as the magazine it published weekly it would make sense that there is a large range of topics covered rather than just interviews and articles accumulated over one month. At the bottom there is an editor's note where a little anecdote is told, this could be done just to offer a bit of personal and relatable humour rather than just classic music magazine articles for those who are avid readers of the magazine.

There is also an advertisement for a magazine subscription for Kerrang! in case those new to the magazine can be lured by this deal which is better than buying 4 magazines a month. The contents page stays in touch with the house style as the logo is clearly displayed at the top of the page, and each of the topic headers on the right use the same broken font of the logo. Most of the text also appears in bold, which keeps in line with the boldness of Kerrang! as it is so different to other magazines.
