Double Page Spread Analysis - Kerrang!

The pull quotes on the double page spread are written in large horror style font in order to emphasise the controversial attitude of this interview, especially on the second pages where the word "depressed" is used. It could also be used to show the style of the musicians being interviewed and that they revolve around darkness and evil stylisation, this style can also be deduced by their clothes. The double page spread stays true to the house style as there are bold black and red words seen throughout the spread. The red words are used to identify the questions being asked or to highlight key words or phrases, and the black words are used to identify question answers; unless they are bold, as then they are used to attract the reader with the most interesting content in this interview being presented to get the reader to look at the rest. There are also interviews for the Kerrang! Tour which are embedded in this double page spread to bring attention to it and evoke interest. There are also pictures of the musicians throughout all with a direct mode of address to engage with the reader.

Page furniture seen on this DPS would be the pull quote presented in a font that would be related to things like horror. Although this looks like it would be a controversial the content is far from it, the magazine could be making a joke at the oxymoron of the band's nature and this question, so this is a good way of making people interested in this DPS while adding an element of satire. This quote isn't actually found in the article, so it could be a taster to tempt people into reading the rest of the DPS. Another design element would be the way the text is wrapped around the bands member on the right's head, as this DPS utilises the space it is given. The style of writing for this piece is informal as this is an interview between multiple people, as it would be more like a conversation rather than a formal piece of writing. The language devices used would be the mention of the other bands on the first page of the DPS, as it would make the connection between the two artists.
